SEI redesigns and launches the new Defense Security Service (DSS) Intranet website!

SEI has recently been awarded a 3 year contract with the Defense Security Service (DSS) to support their Requirement Definition and Management Initiative. DSS provides security services to the Department of Defense (DoD) and is under the direction, authority, and control of the Assistant Secretary of Defense (Command, Control, Communications, and Intelligence). We certainly welcome the opportunity to serve this strategic agency at this time in our country's history.

SEI has been selected as a prime contractor for the NIH ECS III Webstore. This website provides a central location for government agencies to purchase IT goods and services online. The system is called the ECS III STOOR System and can be viewed by going to: http://www.nihecs3.com/.

On Wednesday July 2nd, 2004, the SEI Team had its first ECSIII sale for approximately $6,500.00 and it only took 20 seconds from input to confirmation. Now that's convenience! Here is all that happened in that brief period of time:

The customer's order was entered on our website.
The credit card number was entered.
The credit card was verified.
An approval code was received.
All parties responsible for delivery where sent emails verifying the order.
All financial records were updated.

What made this transaction so special was the convenience that such a quick process gives to our customers versus their present methods of ordering IT products from multiple vendors.
